Our Mission and Funding

At Care Kits for Kids Qld Inc., we rely solely on donations, fundraising efforts, and grants to provide comprehensive and free care kits to children in need. Our aim is to assist children aged 0 to 17 who are in care or facing crisis situations in Queensland. Since our inception in 2018, we have supported over 7,700 children in the region, and the demand for our services continues to grow.

Meeting the Growing Demand

In the first six months of 2023 alone, we received requests for 2,000 care kits for children throughout Queensland. This staggering number highlights the pressing need for our services and motivates us to make a difference in the lives of more and more children each year.

The Supportive Community

We are incredibly fortunate to have an active and supportive community comprising individuals of all ages and from various sectors across Queensland. These amazing people contribute to our cause in numerous ways, demonstrating their unwavering commitment to helping children in need.

Sewing and Crafting Communities

Our sewing and crafting communities play a crucial role in our operations. Many seniors actively participate in creating clothing, toys, bags, pencil cases, hair accessories, quilts, and wraps for our care kits. These dedicated individuals utilize donated fabrics and yarn, embodying our commitment to the #waronwaste and #circulareconomy ethics.

Encouraging Community Involvement

We actively encourage our community to support our #waronwaste and #circulareconomy ethics. By engaging in sustainable practices and promoting a circular economy, we can make a lasting impact on the environment while helping children in need.

Generous Supporters

We are immensely grateful for the support we receive from various individuals and organizations. The generosity of school children, service and social organizations, businesses, and community leaders allows us to fulfill our mission effectively. Some of the ways in which these supporters contribute include:

  1. Buying items needed for the care kits.
  2. Donating items via local MP’s or Councillor’s offices, Community Centers, or designated drop-off points.
  3. Providing financial donations to help us purchase any shortfalls.

We acknowledge these generous contributions on our Facebook page under the “Our Partners” section. Any items that we cannot utilize are passed on to other organizations or individuals who can benefit from them.

Conclusion

At Care Kits for Kids Qld Inc., our dedicated team of volunteers and the support of our community enable us to provide comprehensive care kits to children in need throughout Queensland. With the increasing demand for our services, we strive to make a positive impact on the lives of more and more children each year. Together, we can create a brighter future for the vulnerable children in our community.
