What Does the Trial Involve?

The trial involves a comprehensive program that includes various components to address student interactions and promote positive behavior. Here is an overview of the trial process:

1. Surveying Pupils: Each school participating in the trial will be required to complete a survey where pupils are asked to provide details about their recent contacts with other students.

2. Identification of Representative Group: Based on the survey responses and demographic data, a group of approximately 30 pupils will be selected to represent the entire student body. This group will be diverse and inclusive.

3. Trained Research Assistant (RA): A trained Research Assistant will be assigned to each participating school. The RA will convene the selected group of pupils for 10 fortnightly sessions throughout the school year.

4. Facilitating Improvement: During these sessions, the RAs will help the pupils identify areas for improvement in their interactions with peers. They will encourage the generation of possible solutions and provide opportunities for action through weekly or fortnightly challenges.

5. Promoting Initiatives: The RAs will also help pupils make their initiatives visible to others. This can be done through various means, such as putting up posters, distributing wearable items like wristbands for prosocial behavior, and utilizing online platforms to reach a wider audience, including social media and videos.
